IGOC BIOGRAPHY

The International Gathering of Champions (IGOC) is the flagship international conference of Kingsway International Christian Centre, founded by Matthew Ashimolowo. Emerging from the rapid growth of KICC during the 1990s, IGOC was created as a global Christian gathering designed to inspire faith, leadership, spiritual renewal, entrepreneurship, and community transformation through dynamic preaching, worship, and networking. The conference became one of the most recognised Christian conferences in Europe, attracting thousands of attendees from across the United Kingdom, Africa, Europe, North America, and beyond.

KICC itself began in September 1992 in North London, when Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo and approximately 300 members started worshipping at Holloway Boys School. Within only a few years, the church experienced extraordinary growth, expanding from hundreds to thousands of worshippers. By 1997, KICC had outgrown several venues and acquired a large property at Waterden Road in East London, transforming abandoned warehouses into a modern 4,000-seat arena known as the “Miracle Centre.” This period of rapid expansion laid the foundation for major events such as IGOC.

Throughout the late 1990s and 2000s, IGOC developed into an annual platform that brought together globally respected Christian leaders, worship ministers, entrepreneurs, and motivational speakers. The conference became known for its multicultural atmosphere, free large-scale worship experiences, and messages centred on Biblical growth, leadership development, prosperity, and societal impact. As KICC expanded internationally, IGOC also evolved into a global brand, reaching audiences through television broadcasts, livestreams, and international viewing centres.

IGOC is recognised as a world-class conference that blends worship, leadership training, business insight, and community impact through its in-person and digital attendance at the annual event.

You do not need to have a church background or previously attended a KICC service or event. We believe that every year, we gather with expectation, believing that one encounter with God can change the trajectory of a person’s life forever and all are welcome.
